The beginnings of the New Romantic movement occurred in 1978 with Friday nights at a little West End clubnight in London called "Billy's - A Club For Heroes,” a gathering that was signaling the end of one era (Punk) and the beginning of another. It was decadent, evocative of Berlin cabarets in the thirties, with a lot of Bowie and futuristic German music on the turntables. People created unique identities for themselves. The nightclub revolution had begun.
