Thirty-one years ago on a Tuesday night, two intrepid promoters named Shindog and Skip walked into The I-Beam nightclub on Haight Street, a little anxious and very excited, with the intention of recreating the New Wave dance nights of the early ’80s. The special guest DJ was none other than Brian Raffi, who had reigned supreme in the halcyon days of the club. A lot of people came, everyone danced, and throughout the evening many exclaimed, “you guys have to do this again!” And now here we are, 31 years later!
